PHL CONSULATE GENERAL IN HONG KONG CELEBRATES BUWAN NG WIKA WITH FILIPINO COMMUNITY


 
 


09 September 2014 - The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong celebrated “Buwan ng Wika” (Filipino Language Month) with Filipino songs, dances and poetry on August 24 at the Consulate General’s Public Area.

The program featured performances by members of the Filipino community and Consulate General personnel. The performances include the following:

·        renditions of Filipino classics by soprano and former member of the Philippine Madrigal Singers  Agnes Quilicot, and the Visayas-Mindanao Music and Dance Ensemble;
·        a dance number to the tune of “Sampaguita” from the Philippine Folk Dance and Performing Arts choreographed by Ms. Nena Latonero;
·        a duet of “Kalesa” by Graiden Faith Labrador and Aaliyah Louise Capili;
·        an a cappella rendition of “Isang Lahi” by Filipino-Nepali student Angelbert Thapa;
·        reading Dr. Jose Rizal’s “Sa Aking Mga Kabata” by the children of the Consulate General staff; and
·        community singing of the patriotic song “Pilipinas Kong Mahal.”     


Proclamation No. 1041 signed in 1997 designates the month of August as “Buwan ng Wika” to promote the significance of the Filipino language as a tool for communication, understanding, unity and prosperity. 




MGA PILIPINO SA MYANMAR, IPINAGDIWANG ANG PAMBANSANG ARAW NG MGA BAYANI, NAGHALAL NG MGA BAGONG PINUNO


09 September 2014 – Ipinagdiwang ng mga Pilipino sa Myanmar ang taunang Pambansang Araw ng mga Bayani noong ika-31 ng Agosto sa Pasuguan ng Pilipinas sa Yangon, Myanmar.

Sa maiksing programa na dinaluhan ng mahigit 90 kasapi ng [email protected], ang organisasyon ng mga Pilipino sa Myanmar, binigyang parangal sina G. Patrick Nebre, dating Pangulo ng [email protected] at Gng. Rose Cormack, President ang CharmZ Charity, sa kanilang tulong sa pagpapabuti ng samahan ng mga Pilipino sa Myanmar.

Sa kanyang pambugad ng pananalita, binigyang pugay ni Career Minister Maria Lourdes M. Salcedo ang mga Pilipino sa Myanmar sa kanilang malaking kontribusyon sa pagpapaunlad hindi lamang ng Pilipinas kundi pati na rin ng Myanmar. Bilang mga makabagong bayani, hinikayat ni Career Minister Salcedo ang mga ito na magpatala sa Pasuguan bilang overseas voters sa nalalapit na pambansang halalan ng 2016. Ibinahagi rin ng Pasuguan ang mga impormasyon ukol sa Pag-Ibig, 2014 Global Migration Summit, Migration Media Awards at Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).

Kasabay na rin ng pagdiriwang ng Pambasang Araw ng mga Bayani, nagtalaga ang mga kasapi ng [email protected] ng mga bagong pinuno kung saan nahalal si G. Daniel Dauba bilang bagong Pangulo ng organisasyon.
