Mum unfazed by cramps at Liverpool Olympic 2015

SUFFERING from cramps on both legs, 36-year-old mother of three Michelle Bohol, 36, played the full game in Liverpool Olympic’s unsuccessful bid for the Southern Districts soccer All-Age (over-35s) championship at the Ernie Smith Reserve grounds in Liverpool on Sunday, August 23.

Liverpool Olympic went down to Bossley Sports, 1-0, after a gutsy performance playing with a team of 11 players and no substitutes against Bossley Sports’ full team of 11 players on the field and five substitutes.

Earlier on Saturday, Bohol had cheered on the sidelines for daughter Honeyleen, whose Liverpool Olympic Under-14 team defeated Austral Soccer Club, 1-0, in the Division 3 grand final at the Moorebank Sports Club grounds.

The scores were locked at 0-0 with 7sec left to the final whistle when Honeyleen pounced on a loose ball and played a short pass to Maddison Forbes who beat the goalkeeper to the net in a dramatic finish.

A week earlier, mum Michelle had already suffered a shoulder injury in Liverpool Olympic’s semifinal victory over Chipping Norton Soccer Club, 3-1. So she was moved to fullback from her original position in midfield for the grand final.

“It was a disappointing result for me, but that’s sport,” Bohol said. “I have no regrets. In fact, I am elated about Honeyleen and her team’s amazing game-winning goal in the dying seconds.

“I was also happy that my son Jerell’s Liverpool Olympic U13 team made it to the grand final, although they lost 1-0 in extra time.”

The Liverpool Olympic women All-Age (Division 3) team comprised: Sahar Afiouny, Alisha Ali, Emma Barclay, Michelle Bohol, Kimberly Culvan, Erva Dalgic, Michelle Garzaniti, Samara Harahap, Stephanie Illifi, Tahlia Ivachov, Emma Jenkins, Irene Katopodis, Asraa Kattoub, Helen Nemeruck, Natalie Tempini, Carina Trunzo, Christine Zabarkly, Monica Zarzour. Maagers: Lenny Coban, Samir Zabarkly.

The Liverpool Olympic women Grade 14 (Division 3) team comprised:  Honeyleen Bohol, Yasmin El-Merabie, Maddison Forbes, Monique Frasca, Sonia Kumar, Elisha Mani, Kathleen Manolescos, Nicole Nissan, Shenai Oubeid, Corina Pruscino, Auriel ?Tilman, Tatania Tilman, Golcan Uzuntpe, Nicola Varudo.
