By Tony A. San Juan, OCT

September 16, 2015

Nowadays, the common adage of "Life begins begins at 40" no longer holds true what with one's  strong faith in God and enjoying life amid good food, good medicines, good work and good barkadas. Yes, folks! 50 is now the norm. And this is true, especially to a charismatic person who has spent almost half of his waking life in Canada.

Nestor Recede Medina, a former Dagatan, Lipa City resident who came to Canada in 1992, celebrated his "half-century" mark on September 12, 2015 at Presteign Woodbine United Church Social Hall , Toronto, Ontario. "Isko", as Nestor is affectionately called, was joyfully feted in a celebratory gathering of more than 200 well-wishers together with his family, relatives, friends and colleagues.

Proudly, the celebrator was happily joined in by his family composed of : lovely wife Adelina Jimenez, only daughter Jacqueline, parents Johnny & Mary, supportive siblings Peena Sison, Mercy & Ricky Rosos, Cindy Abas, Dorie & Ted Guevara, Aldo & Liza, Melchor & Ricsel and a barangay of  pamangkins, pinsans at kamag-anaks. His 7 co-workers from RayWal Cabinets-Thornhill, Ontario, were also in attendance.

Among his happy guests were close friends : Bob & Baby San Juan, John and Haning Recinto, Rina Maramo, Ben & Ann Tolentino, Bay & Bing Moga, Tony & Ellen Sansait, Benjie & Jay Adriano, Rogie & Fely Catignas, Chito & Zoe Corpuz, Jun & Nimfa Manigbas, Allan & Malou Gutierrez, Marie Jimenez, Michele & Kevin Small, Tony & Jocelyn San Juan, Ramil Banaag & partner Ellen,Grace Paran & partner Gordon, Virgie & Kit, Edith and a host of other nag-gagandahang at ka-bote-hang kabarkada.

The lively and inviting Pinoy & English music was provided by Breeding Ground, a Toronto 5- man boy band, during the six- hour participatory singing, dancing, and fiesta-like kainankodakan, kantiyawan ,bidahan, inuman at pormahan . Nestor's cinquentabirthday bash was indeed an evening of  memorable milestone !!!
