MISS EARTH SALUTES COP 21


 
 


Philippine Embassy-Brussels-24 November 2015- Keeping in mind the ideals of COP21 (2015 Paris Climate Conference) which will take place in Paris from December 07 to 08 and with ardent hopes for the achievement of a legally binding and universal agreement on climate, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2°C, Ms. Earth 2014, Filipina Jamie Herrell, together with Ms. Earth Belgium 2015 Elizabeth Dwomoh, planted trees at the Embassy garden on November 12.

The tree planting coincided with Miss Earth’s courtesy call on Philippine Ambassador to Belgium Victoria Bataclan. During the visit, Miss Earth National Director Ashlejane Alcancia informed the Embassy that the visions of COP21 are actually the objectives of Miss Earth, a pageant dedicated to the promotion of environmental awareness and the protection of Mother Earth.

Ambassador Bataclan, herself a staunch advocate of environmental protection, expressed appreciation for the visit and the tree planting activity and also expressed the hope that COP21 will be a successful undertaking.

Other members of the Miss Earth delegation are Ashlejane Alcancia, National Director for Miss Earth Philippines Ron Stevens of Ms. Earth Belgium and Mr. Butch  Alcancia, a community leader.

The delegation is en route to Vienna, Austria where the Miss Earth 2015 Pageant will be held on December 05.




PHL EMBASSY IN ROME ASSISTS 500 FILIPINOS IN OUTREACH MISSION TO REPUBLIC OF MALTA


05 November 2015 – The Philippine Embassy in Rome conducted an outreach mission in Sliema, Republic of Malta from October 31 to November 01.

During the outreach, 101 e-Passport applications, 87 authentications of documents, 18 SPA/Affidavits, six reports of birth and seven marriage applications were processed. The consular team also released 139 new e-Passports.  

On October 31, the deadline for overseas voters registration for the 2016 national elections, 70 new overseas voters was successfully registered.

Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) Rome, on the other hand, assisted 140 clients and verified 97 employment contracts.

The outreach mission was led by Philippine Consul General Leila Lora-Santos.

The outreach also provided the opportunity for Consul General Lora-Santos to administer the Oath of Allegiance for Dual Citizenship Reacquisition of four former Filipinos.

The next outreach mission is scheduled on November 08 and 09 in Sokrat Hotel, Tirana, Republic of Albania.




PHL EMBASSY IN ATHENS CONDUCTS OUTREACH IN RHODES


14 October 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Athens conducted an outreach in Rhodes, Greece from October 10 to 11 at the Best Western Plaza Hotel - Rhodes.

The consular team provided a total of 43 services (41 passport applications and 2 reports of birth). Overseas voters (OV) registration was also conducted, where a total of 33 applications were received. Services were also extended by POLO-OWWA and Pag-IBIG.

The consular outreach was conducted with the support of Mr. Michalis J. Roditis, Honorary Consul of the Philippines in Rhodes, and the Filipino Workers’ Association of Rhodes (FWAR).

Rhodes is an island situated in the south-eastern part of the Aegean Sea. It is the largest of the Dodecanese islands in terms of land area and is also the island group's historical capital.
