Popular Toronto FilCan Athletic Association Slates Officers Induction and Winter Dance

The North York Pinoy Athletic Association - NYPAA, will hold a Winter Dance and  Induction of its executive officers and directors on March 3, 2018, Saturday from 6:00 p.m. at St. Peter and St. Paul Banquet Hall, 231 Milner Avenue, Scarborough, Markham Avenue and Highway 401 area.

Among those to be inducted to office under a 2-year term for 2018 - 2019 are:  President: Brendalete Agoncillo; Vice-President: Sharonne Salanguit; Secretaries: Judith Cortez & Elizabeth Pascual; Treasurers: Arlene Pacia-Perez & Vilma Tahsin; Sport Commissioners: Roger Tarca & Marc Victoria; Youth Training & Development: Victor Montero; Advisors: Jimi Fernandez, Cristina Fernandez, Mylene Escalona, Tim Sinclair & Ariel Villamil; Webmaster: Judith Cortez & Arnel Dipaling; and Board of Directors: Bob San Juan, Edgar Sotto, Vilma Tahsin & Roger Tarca.

NYPAA, organized in 1999 as a not-for- profit organization, is composed of dedicated volunteer parents, professionals, youths and students in the Filipino Canadian community who are engaged in fostering youth development and promoting healthy individual and group competitions through its challenging sports programs and productive well-being activities. The association has been a leading participant of different Filipino-Canadian amateur basketball championship leagues in the GTA and in the province. It also conducts clinics and training on basketball basics and coaching techniques.

Purposely, the event is a fundraising social and adult tickets are sold at $40 per person and semi-formal attire is requested. All proceeds will go towards sponsoring and supporting amateur basketball clinics, house league competitions and participating in various city and inter-city tournaments in Canada and the USA.  North York is a member of the North American Basketball Association (NABA) since 2005.

NYPAA is based at Antibes Community Centre, 140 Antibes Drive, Toronto ON M2R 3J3 with mailing address at 1917 - 5 Parkway Forest Dr., Toronto ON M2J 1L2.
