Toronto Region Featineans Hold Annual Picnic and Elections

Summer is upon us! In celebration of the season, The Featineans Association of Toronto (TFAT), a socio-professional organization of alumni and former students, faculty members and staff from FEATI Unversity in Santa Cruz, Manila holds its annual get-together on June 23, 2019, at the Thomson Memorial Park, Scarborough, Toronto, Canada.



The day-long gathering was attended by special guests, supporters, friends and family members of the officers and members of the 3-decade old Greater Toronto Area-based association. As usual, lots of home-cooked & catered foods, desserts & drinks, and kakanins were shared and served to the diet-busting delight of the more than 90 park picnickers.



In meeting its organizational operation and obligation, TFAT also conducted the election of new officers for its 2019-2021 governance term.

Elected to serve, effective June 23, 2019, as members of the Executive Board are the following officers:

President - Edgardo Baruela,1st Vice President- Har Tawatao, 2nd Vice President- Max Recaido, Treasurer-Nenita Recaido, Asst. Treasurer- Greg Gravador, Secretary- Rudy Ortiz, Asst. Secretary- Rose Flores, Auditor - Joy Acuna San Juan, Business Manager-Tony Gatongay and Public Relations Officer -Tony A. San Juan. To serve in co-terminus as Directors are Rolly Balangue, Tirso Balitian, Tom Flores, Moises Ga, Fanny Gravador, Dolly de Leon, Rudy Olay, Bert Pabustan and Eric Serapio.  Oliver Rey, as immediate past president, will serve as a member of the new Executive Board.

            



Special guest, Honourable Bernadette Therese Fernandez, Deputy Consul General of the Philippine Consulate-Toronto officially conducted the swearing of oath office to the 19 duly- elected members of the TFAT Executive Board. Ed Birondo, the former president of the association, volunteered and acted as Chairman of the election proceedings.





TFAT new head honcho Ed Baruela, in his brief acceptance speech, promised: "to pursue and uphold the mission and mandate of the Association, to continue the established projects and programs of his predecessors, and to encourage more engagement and support  from the membership" for an enviable, progressive and productive "samahan ng mga dating kaklase at kaeskuela sa ating  pinagmulang kolegio."
