CONGRATULATIONS to the NEWLY ELECTED BOARD OF DIRECTORS of the KABABAYAN MULTICULTURAL CENTRE - (KMC)

At its 44 th general assembly, Kababayan Multicultural Centre elected the new Board of Directors. Chairperson, Ben S. Corpuz Vice Chairperson. Isidro Buquiron Secretary - Ana Labasug Assistant Secretary - Marites Mayome Abubo Treasurer - Ama i da Ada

Board Members:

Liberty Contessa Catbagan, Nilda Dosado, Lonylee Garcia, and, Jecris Tubigon.

Outgoing Board members are: Jelbert Real(Hon.Board member), Richard Llanera, and, Voltaire Rosacena

The current dedicated and committed Executive Director is Flordeliz Dandal.

KMC is fully staffed with individuals with proven experience, skills, compassion and commitment to serve the diverse communities.

The annual general assembly was held virtually on September 25, 2021 in Toronto, Ontario with the participation of 70, participants all over Canada.

The Kababayan Multicultural Centre (KMC), registered as Kababayan Community Service Centre Inc, is a registered charity (118976653 RR 0001) since July 7, 1977,  tinyurl.com/yk82upbe).

 

From the latest strategic planning, the vision of KMC is to be a leader in supporting immigrant communities towards their full participation in Canadian society. While the mission is to develop a strong immigrant community by providing: Effective, client centered programs and services accessible to all; Delivered by caring and professional staff; and in partnership with agencies and organizations.

The charitable organization are currently funded by the three levels of government of Canada. The financial statements are being audited annually by an independent Chartered Professional Accountant (CPAs) in a reputable Canadian accounting firm and presented and discussed during the annual general assembly by the partner in charge.

It was founded in 1977 by Ruben Cusipag, Tessie Jew, Voltaire de Leon, Carmencita Hernandez and Helen Mascardo.

Over the years, KMC has been a strong presence in the community, advocating for the rights of individuals in Toronto, while assisting in the settlement of newcomers in the greater Toronto area. It has provided a myriad of services to empower and enable newcomers to successfully settle in Toronto, Ontario: Programs and services include settlement services, community social support, employment/job assistance, information dissemination, workshops, training seniors’ support program, youth program, women support program and more.

The newly elected Board members will strive to meet the mission and vision of Kababayan Multicultural Centre. KMC helped thousands of individuals on its 44 years of existence and made a difference in the lives of many.
