Toronto FilCan Educators Slate Professional Development Seminar

The Philippine Teachers Association of Canada ( PTAC) is conducting its 9th Professional Development Seminar on April 10, 2016, Sunday, 10 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. at Kababayan Multicultural Centre (KMC) Suite 133, # 1313 Queen Street Avenue West / Cowan Street, Parkdale, Toronto. PTAC , organized in May, 2006, is a not-for-profit socio-professional  organization composed of Filipino Canadian licensed & practicing  teachers in Ontario and former educators in the Philippines, as well.

In cooperation with KMC ,the whole day annual free event with its theme : "Career Building in Education" will provide professional learning opportunity for regular members and prospective members of the 10-year old  Association. The main topics to be covered are: 1 ) Resume and Cover-Letter Writing, 2) Volunteering and Interview Process 3) Career Building Opportunities and 4) Career Alternatives. Invited to present information and insights are experienced teachers and other education professionals. A bonus topic on Personal Estate Planning will be presented by an invited financial advisor.

Tasked to organize and coordinate the day's proceedings are  Donna Scutariu ( chair), Grace Dela Pena, Etta Del Rosario, Gary Camu , Gigi Nicholas,and Francella Ampioco, all Ontario certified teachers. Providing guidance and support are PTAC senior officers Rose Apilado, Marissa Ciacico, Cielito Drapeza, Maricon Bernasor, Perly Santos Laganas, Red Andres, Boni Curutan, Bernadette Gapuz, Mila Curutan, Trina Andres and Tony A. San Juan.

Complimentary lunch and snack will be served to all guests and participants during the event.  Interested PTAC officers, regular members, prospective members and other teachers are encouraged to register as early as possible by contacting: Perly Santos Laganas at : / Tel  or Donna Scutariu at:  / Tel. .( T.
