GTA Featineans Hold Year-end Organization Review and Strategy Session

The Featineans Association of Toronto ( TFAT) , an organization of Filipino Canadian alumni and former faculty members, students & staff of FEATI University in Manila, Philippines conducted its extra-ordinary but special holiday celebration on December 4, 2016 at a Toronto east-end  restaurant.

During its celebratory buffet luncheon-cum-meeting, the officers and members of the 27- year old association in Ontario , aside from holding their traditional gathering, have also reviewed and deliberated the Association's current status,commitments and contributions as a significant player - and - participant in the Filipino Canadian community as well as in their alma mater.

Admirably led by newly-reelected TFAT president Oliver Rey and the 4 living founders Tirso Balitian, Annie Buiza, Julio Buiza,Jr. & Tony A. San Juan, the other discussant-officers present were : Rolly Balangue and spouse,Tony Catongay and spouse, Tom & Rose Flores, Moises Ga, , Romy & Norma Guanzon, Greg & Fannie Gravador, Virgie Maruso, Rudy Olay, Rudy & Zeny Ortiz, Bert & Rory Pabustan, Nenita Recaido, Darlene Rey, and Tony & Joy A. San Juan.

Among the special guests who joined in were the players and volunteers who helped the TFAT team win the First Runner-up trophy at the 2016 Philippine Colleges & Universities Alumni Association (PCUAA) inter-alumni summer sports competition. The players honoured and feted were: Henelle, Angelo, Jim, RM, Michelle, OB, Ryan and N. Recaido’s friends.

At the joyous occasion, Nenita Recaido, the Association's long-serving treasurer & with her grandson Dominos Maximus beside her, received warm birthday wishes & felicitations. Also, TFAT co-founder Tony A. San Juan endorsed a binder of TFAT Pinoy media clippings from 2006 to 2016.

For the year 2017, among other things, TFAT considered to steadfastly continue and support its sustainable  programs and projects , as much as possible, such as the :  annual scholarship grants, academic excellence recognition awards, community outreach initiatives, seasonal socials, summer picnic , sports participation, and casino -trip fundraisers. The remarkable gathering closed with the usual sharing of Christmas  wishes, gift exchange, last-call snacking, and posterity kodakans. ( T. San Juan)
